A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man on his honeymoon in Pittsburgh. The victim, identified as Larry Gilmore, was found unresponsive and bleeding profusely from severe head trauma. The suspect, Heiko-Lamar Calhoun, was located and arrested by police. Gilmore is currently in critical condition in the hospital. The attack reportedly occurred because Gilmore made a comment about castrating Calhoun. 26-Year-Old Man Arrested for Attempted Murder of Honeymooner in Pittsburgh Hotel

PITTSBURGH (TCD) – A shocking incident unfolded at Even Hotel on 425 Forbes Ave. on July 24, when a 26-year-old man allegedly stabbed a 41-year-old honeymooner, leaving him in critical condition. Pittsburgh Police swiftly responded to the assault, which occurred in the hotel lobby at around 7 p.m. The victim, identified as Larry Gilmore, was found unresponsive and bleeding profusely from severe head trauma. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Authorities wasted no time in locating and apprehending the suspect, Heiko-Lamar Calhoun, on the 400 block of Smithfield Street. Calhoun now faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, and recklessly endangering another person. Currently, he is being held without bail in the Allegheny County Jail.

Surveillance footage from the hotel reveals the horrifying nature of the attack, with Calhoun allegedly kicking, stomping, and repeatedly striking Gilmore’s head against the ground. Disturbingly, Gilmore’s pants had also been removed during the assault.

Gilmore’s wife, Shalawrae, was alerted to the incident by a passerby who witnessed the attack. Frantically attempting to reach her husband, she discovered him lying in a pool of blood inside the hotel. The couple had just celebrated their wedding one day prior to the horrifying event and had chosen the hotel for their honeymoon.

According to reports, Gilmore and Calhoun were not acquainted before the assault, and Calhoun is reportedly homeless. Calhoun claimed that he attacked Gilmore in response to a comment made about castration. As of Wednesday, July 26, Gilmore remained conscious in the hospital, while his wife revealed that she is currently pregnant with their fourth child.
