Five people, including two children, were killed in a fiery collision on U.S. Highway 441 in Putnam County, Georgia. EATONTON, Ga. – Tragedy struck early Tuesday morning in Putnam County when a car and an SUV collided head-on, resulting in the deaths of five individuals, including two children. The collision occurred on U.S. Highway 441, and authorities have now identified the victims.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard R. Sills confirmed that the driver of the car was traveling on the wrong side of the highway, which led to the catastrophic crash. All five victims, who resided in Putnam County, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision took place around 12:45 a.m., approximately 1.5 miles north of the Putnam-Baldwin County line. The victims have been identified as Mayla Dostie, 44, Hailey Brooke Hayes, 22, and her two children, Tucker Hudspeth, 8 months, and Bentley Barlow, 3, as well as Zaleigh Adaya Brooks, 23.

According to Sheriff Sills, Hayes was driving a 2018 Honda Civic south in the northbound lanes of the highway, resulting in the fatal impact with Dostie’s 2005 Nissan Xterra. The collision caused the car to burst into flames.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and the Putnam County Coroner’s Office are currently investigating the incident. Firefighters and first responders from Putnam County Fire Rescue extinguished the flames at the scene.
