Butler County, Ohio – Shocking discoveries were made earlier this week at an animal rescue in Ohio, as deputies found approximately 30 dead dogs and puppies in various stages of decomposition, stuffed into fridges and freezers. These dogs and puppies were being held at two different properties in Madison Township, housed in various structures. One of the structures, a garage, had over 25 caged canines and an indoor temperature reaching a scorching 89 degrees.

Disturbingly, numerous animals were kept together in cages that were filled with urine, fecal matter, and devoid of food or water. Among the deplorable conditions, one cage contained a mother dog and her eight newborn puppies. Additionally, authorities discovered 11 adult canines in the main house, some of which were caged together.

The deceased canines were found in five refrigerators and freezers, some of which were not even functioning, spread throughout the two properties. The stench was so overpowering that Deputy Dog Wardens had to step out of the structure multiple times to catch their breath.

The owner of the dog rescue, identified as Rhonda Murphy, operated under the business name “Helping Hands for Furry Paws.” Murphy now faces numerous charges of neglect and cruelty to companion animals, ranging from felony to misdemeanor.
