FRANKLIN COUNTY — Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic shooting incident that occurred in rural Franklin County. Law enforcement officials responded to a distressing 911 call on Friday evening, just before 9 p.m., in the 1800 Block of John Brown Road in rural Princeton, Kansas.

According to a media release, sheriff’s deputies swiftly arrived at the scene and discovered a man with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as Nathan Boggs, a 42-year-old resident of Ottawa. Despite the best efforts of law enforcement and Franklin County EMS, Boggs tragically succumbed to his injuries at the location.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in their investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Ottawa Police. Together, they are working diligently to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and piece together the events leading up to this devastating incident.
