Rapper Travis Scott has released his fourth studio album, Utopia, five years after his last album, Astroworld, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The new album, released via Cactus Jack and Epic Records, features lead single “K-POP” with The Weeknd and Bad Bunny. A live concert at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt was scheduled to accompany the album’s release, but was canceled due to “complex production issues.” Alongside the album, Scott has also released a new film, Circus Maximus, produced by A24 and directed by Scott himself. Music artist Travis Scott has unveiled his fourth studio album, ‘Utopia’, on Friday, July 28. The album was released through Cactus Jack and Epic Records.

‘Utopia’ Follows the Success of ‘Astroworld’

‘Utopia’ comes five years after Scott’s last studio album, ‘Astroworld’. ‘Astroworld’ not only debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 but also featured the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit ‘Sicko Mode’, a collaboration with Drake. This track became Scott’s first No. 1 hit and achieved RIAA diamond certification two years after its release. ‘Astroworld’ was also a contender for best rap album at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

Lead Single ‘K-POP’ and Canceled Concert

The lead single of ‘Utopia’, ‘K-POP’, features The Weeknd and Bad Bunny. Scott was set to perform the new album at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, but the special livestreamed concert was canceled due to “complex production issues,” as stated by Live Nation Middle East.

Simultaneous Release of ‘Circus Maximus’

Alongside the release of ‘Utopia’, Scott is also debuting his new film, ‘Circus Maximus’. The film was produced by A24 and written and directed by Scott. According to AMC, it will “take his audience on a mind-bending visual odyssey across the globe, woven together by the speaker rattling sounds of his highly anticipated upcoming album ‘Utopia'”. The film will be available at select AMC theaters on specific dates in July and August.
