Teenager Fatally Shot and Another Injured in Kingman shooting

In a tragic incident, a teenager lost his life while another was wounded during a shooting in the Chaparral Mesa subdivision just north of Kingman. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim and shared additional details about the violent incident.

Incident Details

At approximately 3:49 p.m., the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a weapons offense in the vicinity of Lass Ave. and Rose Dr. Promptly responding to the scene, deputies were informed about a male individual with a gunshot wound who had been taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment,” said MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. Unfortunately, the victim, identified as Anthony Artiglio, a 19-year-old resident of Kingman, did not survive his injuries.

Arrest and Investigation

According to Mortensen, detectives have interviewed multiple witnesses who were present during the shooting, which took place on the roadway near an intersection. The authorities have arrested a 16-year-old male on charges of second-degree murder. It was revealed that the suspect sustained a minor gunshot wound during the incident. After receiving medical evaluation and clearance, he was transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. The investigation into the case is currently ongoing,” Mortensen stated.
