A Granger man, 47-year-old Jaime Daniel Brown, died in a motorcycle crash in Berrien County. Deputies responded to the scene and found the motorcycle and its driver in a ditch. BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) – Tragedy struck early Friday morning in Berrien County as a motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Granger man.

Authorities received a distress call at approximately 12:25 a.m. regarding a solo motorcycle accident at the intersection of W. Elm Valley Road and Mill Road in Weesaw Township. Upon reaching the scene, responders discovered both the motorcycle and its operator in a ditch just east of the intersection.

Desperate efforts were made by first responders to save the life of the driver, later identified as 47-year-old Jaime Daniel Brown of Granger. Unfortunately, their attempts were in vain.

While the precise circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office accident Investigation Unit, preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed and alcohol may have played a role. Additionally, it was revealed that Brown was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Assisting the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Three Oaks Police Department, Michigan State Police, Weesaw Township Fire Department, and Medic 1 Ambulance.
