Drake reignites feud with Pusha T in Travis Scott’s new album ‘Utopia’, also involving Pharrell. Notably, Drake features on ‘Meltdown’, a song in the album. The rapper appears to reference custom chains Pharrell auctioned last year, worth $3.3 million, which Drake was seen wearing in his video. He also refers to Virgil Abloh, the late fashion icon who Pharrell succeeded at Louis Vuitton. This is the first time Drake has targeted Pharrell, but not Pusha T, with whom he has a history of lyrical jabs since 2018. The feud reignites hip hop’s most memorable battles. Andy Bustard reported

Travis Scott Releases Anticipated Album Featuring Drake

The eagerly awaited album from Travis Scott was released at midnight on July 28, featuring a guest verse from Drake in the track titled “Meltdown.” The song, produced by various artists including Coleman, BNYX, Boi-1da, Vinylz and Tay Keith, allows Drake to indirectly address his rivals from Virginia.

Drake’s Lyrics Hint at Ongoing Feuds

In his verse, Drake seems to reference the custom chains that Pharrell auctioned off in the previous year, which Drake was later seen wearing in his music video for “Jumbotron Shit Poppin.” The line, “I melt down the chains that I bought from yo boss/ Give a fuck about all of that heritage shit/ Since V not around, the members done hung up the Louis/ They not even wearing that shit,” implies this.

Background of Drake and Pusha T’s Rivalry

Drake’s feud with Pusha T is not new. The rappers’ rivalry escalated in 2018 with a series of harsh diss tracks that marked a significant moment in Hip Hop history. Pusha T ignited the feud with allegations of Drake using a ghostwriter in his track “Infrared” from the album DAYTONA. This led to Drake retaliating with his own track, “Duppy Freestyle.”

Pusha T Exposes Drake’s Personal Life

The feud took a personal turn when Pusha T targeted Drake’s family in his track “The Story of Adidon,” revealing the existence of Drake’s son, Adonis, before it was public knowledge. Pusha T claimed the information was leaked by Drake’s long-term producer, Noah “40” Shebib.

Drake Continues to Taunt Pusha T

Even though Drake never officially responded to “The Story of Adidon,” he has continued to throw subtle jabs at Pusha T, most recently in Jack Harlow’s 2022 song “Churchill Downs.” Despite this, Pusha T has expressed that he is no longer interested in engaging in a lyrical war with Drake, as he believes the feud was already won by him.

Pusha T’s Thoughts on the Feud

In an interview with XXL, Pusha T revealed his feelings about the ongoing feud and expressed his satisfaction in knowing that it still affected Drake after four years. He also questioned whether Drake would ever directly diss him and stated that he was no longer interested in the feud.
