The local authorities of Marion Police Department are currently conducting a search for a woman following the tragic discovery of her deceased sister with disabilities. The incident occurred when the police responded to a welfare check at a residence on East Court Street after failed attempts to contact anyone living there.

Family members had informed the police that a woman, who required constant care, resided in the house. Upon entering the premises, officers discovered the lifeless body of 27-year-old Kristin Rutherford in one of the bedrooms.

The family states that Rutherford relied heavily on in-home care to ensure her overall well-being and safety. However, investigations have revealed that her older sister, 34-year-old Casie Lynne McCartha, was responsible for her sister’s welfare and safety while also residing in the same house.

Unfortunately, McCartha was not present at the time Rutherford was found, and she has not been seen since. The Marion Police Department is actively seeking McCartha and has obtained a felony warrant for concealing the death of a person.
