Man Pleads Guilty to First-Degree Manslaughter in Fatal shooting Case

A young man from Queens, New York, named Torren King, has entered a guilty plea for the charge of manslaughter in the first degree. The case involves the fatal shooting of Numani Lambert, a 22-year-old Bronx resident, at Rufus King Park in Jamaica back in October 2020.

According to District Attorney Melinda Katz, this tragic incident occurred in broad daylight at a public park frequently visited by children, prematurely ending Lambert’s life. The events unfolded when Lambert and two others had arranged to sell marijuana to an online buyer who went by the name “Pimmy Don.”

On the afternoon of October 15, 2020, at around 4:30 p.m., an argument over money ensued before the transaction could be completed. Torren King, one of the two men they met in the park, refused to pay, leading Lambert and his friends to walk away. However, King called them back, pulling out a gun and firing two shots at Lambert, resulting in a fatal head injury.

Further investigation revealed that the murder weapon, a 9mm Luger, was later discovered at the residence of Chance Goode, who is identified as “Pimmy Don.” Goode was found to have orchestrated the robbery, sending King and instructing Jabari Curtis to drive King to the location and wait. Both Goode and Curtis are currently awaiting trial.
