A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 15-year-old in Edwards, Mississippi. 21-year-old Kaniya Jones was charged with murder and is currently being held in the Hinds County Detention Center. The victim, Denarius Hayes, was shot multiple times and later died from his injuries at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Three other suspects, Raymond Townsend, Keith Lee, Demarcus Mixon, and Justin Campbell, have also been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the shooting. Fifth Suspect Arrested in Connection to shooting Death of 15-Year-Old in Edwards

In Hinds County, Mississippi, a significant development has occurred in the investigation of the shooting death of a 15-year-old in Edwards. Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones announced that 21-year-old Kaniya Jones was apprehended on Wednesday, July 26, on charges of murder.

The incident took place at Brandon Arms Apartments on Highway 467, where deputies were called to the scene on Friday, July 14. Upon arrival, they discovered the 15-year-old victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was being rushed to River Region Hospital in Vicksburg.

Identified as Denarius Hayes, the teenager was later airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson. Unfortunately, Hayes succumbed to his injuries on Monday, July 24, at UMMC. As a result, the charges against the initial suspect, 17-year-old Raymond Townsend, were upgraded from aggravated assault to murder.

During the ongoing investigation, another suspect, 20-year-old Keith Lee, was identified and subsequently arrested on murder charges. Lee is currently being held at the Hinds County Detention Center.

In addition to Lee, two more individuals have been taken into custody in connection to the shooting. Demarcus Mixon, 19, and Justin Campbell, 21, have both been charged with murder and are also being held at the Hinds County Detention Center.
