A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday night on Indianapolis’ northwest side, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) received a call around 9:30 p.m. regarding an accident with injuries in the 4000 block of Michigan Road, near the intersection of 38th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a pickup truck and a motorcycle had collided, and the motorcyclist, identified as a male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, also a male, remained at the scene of the crash. IMPD investigators have stated that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident. Crash investigators are currently responding to the scene, and as a result, westbound 38th Street is closed at Michigan Road.
Disturbingly, just 10 minutes before this accident, another crash involving a Jeep and a motorcycle occurred just 3 miles down the road on 38th Street. The motorcyclist involved in this crash is reported to be in extremely critical condition. It is unclear at this time if these two incidents are related or if they are simply separate tragic accidents.
