Emergency responders, including sheriff’s deputies, Mt. Calvary Fire Department/Ambulance, and Fond du Lac paramedics, were dispatched to the scene. However, before their arrival, bystanders had already stopped to provide first aid to the injured motorcyclist. The rider, a 36-year-old man from Wild Rose, was then airlifted to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah due to significant injuries.
Investigation by the sheriff’s office revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling west on State 23 when he veered onto the gravel median shoulder. He lost control on the shoulder and eventually ended up in the median after being thrown off his motorcycle. It is worth noting that the rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The motorcyclist was subsequently arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated. However, his name has not been released by the sheriff’s office. The crash is still under investigation, although speed and alcohol are believed to have played a role.
