“Fatal Crash on Peoria Road: One Driver Killed, Three Others Injured”

A driver was killed and three others were injured in a near head-on collision on Peoria Road near Halsey, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. The crash involved a green Toyota Camry and a Ford F-450 truck with a trailer. The driver of the Toyota, a 17-year-old from Idaho, crossed the centerline and struck the oncoming truck. The Toyota driver suffered fatal injuries, while the occupants of the truck had minor injuries. Authorities are investigating the crash and have ruled out impairment or excessive speed as factors. A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon near Halsey, Oregon, resulting in the death of one driver and injuries to three others. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident took place on Peoria Road, south of Lake Creek Drive.

According to authorities, a 17-year-old juvenile from Idaho was driving a green 2011 Toyota Camry northbound on Peoria Road. As the vehicle approached a right-hand curve, the driver crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming Ford F-450 truck pulling a trailer.

Tragically, the driver of the Toyota sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Meanwhile, the two occupants of the pickup truck were evaluated for minor injuries. Additionally, a 15-year-old passenger in the Toyota also suffered minor injuries.

Initial investigations by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office revealed no signs of impairment or excessive speed contributing to the accident. However, the investigation is still ongoing.

In response to the incident, the Multi-Agency Investigation Team was called in to assist with the investigation. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office received support from the Halsey Fire Department and Linn County Road Department during the response.
