Three U.S. Marines who were found dead at a gas station in North Carolina have been identified as Tanner J. Kaltenberg, Merax C. Dockery, and Ivan R. Garcia. The Marine lance corporals stationed at Camp Lejeune were found nonresponsive in a privately-owned car and were pronounced dead on the same day. The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting autopsy reports but stated that there is no evidence of foul play. The circumstances surrounding their deaths are currently under investigation. The U.S. Marine Corps is currently investigating the deaths of three Marines who were found dead at a gas station in North Carolina. The victims have been identified as Tanner J. Kaltenberg, 19, of Madison, Wisconsin; Merax C. Dockery, 23, of Pottawatomie, Oklahoma; and Ivan R. Garcia, 23, of Naples, Florida.

The three Marine lance corporals were stationed at Camp Lejeune and were found nonresponsive in a privately-owned car in Hampstead, N.C. on Sunday morning. They were pronounced dead later that day. Brig. Gen. Michael E. McWilliams, commanding general of the 2nd Marine Logistics Group, expressed his condolences and stated that the focus is on providing support to the families and colleagues of the deceased Marines.

According to Sgt. Chester Ward of the Pender County Sheriff’s Department, there is currently no evidence of foul play, and the department is awaiting the autopsy reports. The sheriff’s office is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

It is still unclear who owns the car where the Marines were found. The Pender County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered them after responding to a missing person call, with one of the Marines being the reported missing person.

This tragic incident has left the Marine Corps community mourning the loss of these young servicemen. As the investigation continues, the focus is on providing support to the families and colleagues affected by this devastating loss. The Marine Corps and the sheriff’s office are working together to determine the cause of death and any contributing factors..
