The car was struck on the passenger’s side by a CSX freightliner. The victims, identified as Dallas Corbin Dozier, 17, and Brandy Elizabeth Drinnon, 34, were thrown from the car. A tragic incident in Wilcox County, Georgia, claimed the lives of a 17-year-old boy and his mother when their car collided with a train. According to Georgia State Patrol, the fatal crash occurred on July 20 along State Route 159.

Reports indicate that the car, a 2016 Kia Optima, was traveling south and crossed a marked railroad crossing with its safety arms activated and lowered. Additionally, the red flashing lights at the crossing were active and illuminated. Despite these safety measures, the driver maneuvered the car around the safety arms and onto the tracks, where it was struck by a CSX freightliner. The impact occurred on the passenger’s side of the vehicle, resulting in the deaths of both occupants.

The victims have been identified as 17-year-old Dallas Corbin Dozier and his mother, 34-year-old Brandy Elizabeth Drinnon. Both individuals were thrown from the car upon impact. Dozier, a student at Hawkinsville High School, was described as a well-mannered young man who enjoyed gaming. Drinnon, a self-employed tattoo artist, was known for her love of drawing, music, fishing, and spending time at the beach with her family.

The community mourns the loss of Dozier and Drinnon, with memorial services held for Dozier on July 23 and scheduled for Drinnon on July 25.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities seek to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic accident. Wilcox County, located approximately 150 miles southeast of Atlanta, is left grappling with the heartbreaking loss of two lives.
