A Southaven woman has been charged with manslaughter after allegedly killing her boyfriend during an altercation. The incident took place in the parking lot of Dan McGuines’s Bar on July 20th. The victim, identified as Charlie Joyner, suffered severe head trauma and was rushed to Regional One Trauma Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

According to Southaven Police, Joyner and his girlfriend, Tiffany Monette, were engaged in a verbal argument inside the bar. Surveillance footage captured the couple arguing before Monette eventually left the establishment. However, Joyner tried to prevent her from leaving by standing in front of the pickup truck she was driving.

Eyewitnesses reported that Monette began nudging Joyner with the vehicle as he stood in front of it. Shortly after, video evidence from a nearby business showed Monette accelerating at a high speed, leaving the parking lot.

Monette was apprehended and now faces charges of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries or death. The incident highlights the dangers of domestic altercations and the potential consequences that can arise from such conflicts.
