“Nicholas Schreck, 33, Killed in Highway 75 Crash near Beaver Lake”

A tragic accident occurred on Monday morning near Beaver Lake along Highway 75, resulting in the death of one person. The incident took place when a white Chevy Silverado pickup, traveling north on Highway 75, collided with a black Mercury Topaz heading south.

The driver of the Mercury, 33-year-old Nicholas Schreck from Nebraska City, was pronounced dead at the scene. Schreck, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was on his way to work when the accident occurred. The driver and passenger of the Silverado, fortunately, did not suffer serious injuries.

Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage and had to be towed from the scene. In order to conduct accident reconstruction, Highway 75 was closed to through traffic until around 10 a.m.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, along with Murray Fire and Rescue and the Nebraska State Patrol, responded to the scene shortly before 6:30 a.m. An investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
