A shocking incident took place in Ambattur, Chennai, where a 25-year-old autorickshaw driver was brutally hacked to death after he questioned a gang for cutting a cake in the middle of the road as part of a birthday celebration. The victim’s elder brother also sustained injuries in the attack.

The deceased, identified as Kamesh, lived in Venkateswara Nagar in Ambattur. His brother, Sathish, resided in Oragadam with his family. On the fateful night, Kamesh picked up his brother from Ambattur and was driving towards Oragadam when they encountered a gang of 10 men celebrating their birthday by cutting a cake on the road.

As the gang refused to clear the way despite repeated pleas, Kamesh continued to honk. This led to an argument between Kamesh and the gang members. Gautham, the person whose birthday was being celebrated, and others allegedly stabbed Kamesh with knives during the altercation.

The gang didn’t stop there; they also attacked Sathish, leaving him with injuries on his hand. An ambulance crew arrived at the scene and pronounced Kamesh dead. Sathish was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Ambattur police have registered a case based on Sathish’s complaint.
