“Sherry Vincent, 75, Dies in Lake Charles Homicide Investigation”

A tragic incident in Lake Charles, Louisiana has turned into a homicide investigation. An elderly woman, Sherry Vincent, was attacked and sexually assaulted at the beginning of July and unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The Lake Charles Police Department was called to the scene on Caroline St. after receiving an emergency assist call around 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Vincent severely beaten and sexually assaulted. She was immediately taken to a local hospital and later transferred to a hospital out of town for further treatment.

Since the incident, detectives have been tirelessly investigating and searching for the unknown male suspect. However, on Wednesday, the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office delivered the devastating news that Vincent had passed away. With her death, the investigation has transitioned from an assault case to a homicide case.
