A tragic accident in Waldorf, Maryland claimed the life of an 84-year-old woman on July 20. The incident occurred at around 3:19 p.m. near the intersection of Post Office Road and Henry Ford Circle. According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Operations Unit, the driver of a passenger car failed to yield the right of way to a pickup truck traveling on Post Office Road. The truck collided with the car on the driver’s side, causing it to spin and crash into a nearby tree.
The driver of the car, identified as Vina Patamaset Frantz, was airlifted to a hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the pickup truck did not sustain any serious injuries.
