A tragic two-vehicle crash in Wabasha County, Minnesota claimed the life of a Millville man and left a teenager injured on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred along Highway 63 in Mount Pleasant Township, southwest of Lake City, and was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m. The crash resulted in the closure of a section of the highway for nearly four hours.

According to the state crash report, the collision involved a northbound SUV and a southbound car on the two-lane highway. The car driver, identified as 26-year-old Spencer Davis Sommerfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 16-year-old boy who was driving the SUV was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. The extent of his injuries has not yet been disclosed, and his name and hometown have not been released.
