On Tuesday night, a man from Jonesboro, Tennessee, was arrested in Greentown for allegedly stabbing another man in the neck during an altercation. Justin A. Crow Jr., 20, is now facing a preliminary charge of attempted murder for his alleged role in the incident.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when police received a report of a male subject with a stab wound in an alley near the 200 block of South Hunt Street. Ryan Cummins, a 48-year-old resident of Greentown, was found at the scene with a bystander rendering aid.

According to Cummins, he was riding his bicycle in the alley when he was approached by a white male wearing a black and red hoodie, later identified as Crow. Cummins stated that Crow sprayed him with pepper spray before the two got into a physical altercation. During the fight, Crow allegedly stabbed Cummins in the neck, threatening to kill him.

After the incident, Crow asked Cummins for his name, and when Cummins replied with “Ryan,” Crow realized he had attacked the wrong person and fled the scene. Cummins was airlifted to a nearby hospital, and his current condition is unknown.

Police were able to track Crow’s location to a house on East Grant Street in Greentown, where he had been staying with family. During the investigation, Crow’s story reportedly changed multiple times, but he eventually confessed to the stabbing, claiming that Cummins had triggered him with a name and he was “just done with people.”

Crow is currently being held without bond at the Howard County Jail, and his initial hearing is pending.
