Deputies in Forsyth County, North Carolina are currently investigating a homicide that occurred in Kernersville. The incident took place on Carter Road at around 10:00 PM last night. The Sheriff’s Office received reports of a person walking around in a mask and carrying a gun. The first deputy to arrive at the scene was able to apprehend the person and seize the firearm without any incidents. However, deputies later discovered that a person had been shot and the victim died at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
The individual who was in possession of the gun is currently being questioned by deputies, but they have not yet been named as a suspect in the case. The Sheriff’s Office has stated that this does not appear to be a random incident.

In an update to the story, it has been reported that a man named Quay’mon Nicholas Swaringen has been charged with murder in connection to the shooting. Swaringen, a 20-year-old from Greensboro, was taken into custody for questioning and later arrested. Deputies were dispatched to Kerner Road in Kernersville after receiving reports of a person wearing a mask and carrying a handgun. Gunshots were also reported in the area. Deputies found a victim with a gunshot wound and attempted life-saving measures, but the victim, identified as Christian Lee Arrington, a 21-year-old from Greensboro, succumbed to their injuries.
Swaringen is currently being held in the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center without bond.
