“Jason Cotten of Pride Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash on La. Hwy. 409”

A single-vehicle crash in Pride, Louisiana has left a man dead, according to Louisiana State Police Troop A. The victim has been identified as Jason Cotten, a 44-year-old resident of Pride.

The incident occurred on Sunday, July 16, after 4 p.m. on La. Hwy. 409 near Lavell Road. Cotten was driving a 2006 Nissan Titan, traveling north on La. Hwy. 409 when the vehicle exited the road while in a curve. In an attempt to regain control, Cotten steered to the left but overcorrected, causing the truck to drive off the road, hit a culvert, and flip over.

Unfortunately, Cotten was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered critical injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

As part of the investigation, a standard toxicology sample was collected from Cotten and submitted for analysis. The crash is still under investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop A.
