“Fatal Crash on I-93 in Wilmington Claims Life of Female Passenger

One person has tragically lost their life in a car crash on I-93 in Wilmington, Massachusetts. The incident occurred on Sunday night, and State police responded to the scene around 7:21 pm.

The crash involved two vehicles, a 2008 Honda Civic sedan, and a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, both traveling southbound in the area of Exit 33 (Concord Street). According to preliminary investigations, the Honda hydroplaned, veered off the road into the median, collided with the median guardrail barrier, and then reentered the roadway, ultimately colliding with the Chevrolet in the right lane.

Sadly, the passenger in the Honda, identified as a female, sustained serious and life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Lahey Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The other individuals involved in the crash were also taken to Lahey and Winchester Hospitals, but their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police, as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the incident.
