Singh, in his statement, mentioned that he was trying to help a burqa-clad woman drop her son at a madrasa. It was during their return journey that the car accidentally hit the kanwar, leading to a mob gathering and targeting Singh. He believes that the assaulters mistook him for a Muslim due to his appearance, which included a black cap and a beard.
