A 24-year-old man has been charged by the Knoxville Police Department after a hit-and-run incident in which he crashed a Dodge Charger along Magnolia Avenue. The incident occurred on Sunday morning when officers responded to a single-car crash at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Kirkland Street.

According to KPD spokesperson Scott Erland, it is believed that the Charger involved in the crash had fled from a separate hit-and-run incident in the 3000 block of E. Magnolia. Two passengers in the Charger were taken to the hospital, with one listed in critical condition as of Sunday night.

The driver of the Charger, identified as Santiago Domingo, was taken into custody at the scene of the crash on multiple charges including DUI. Domingo’s arraignment and the current condition of the passengers have not yet been released. Details about the hit-and-run incident are also unknown at this time.

Hit-and-run incidents are serious offenses that can result in severe injuries or even death. It is essential for drivers to remain at the scene of an accident and report it to the authorities. Fleeing the scene only compounds the legal consequences and shows a lack of responsibility and concern for the well-being of others.

Law enforcement agencies take hit-and-run incidents seriously and will work diligently to identify and apprehend those responsible. It is a reminder for all drivers to obey traffic laws, drive responsibly, and stay at the scene if involved in an accident..
