On a Saturday morning just after 2 a.m., a single vehicle crash occurred in La Porte County, Indiana. The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office received a dispatch to the area of State Road 2 and Old State Road 2 in response to the accident.
The initial investigation revealed that a black GMC Sierra pickup truck had veered off the road, entered a deep ditch, and finally came to a stop in a field. Two individuals were found at the scene, identified as 55-year-old Allan M. Vanblaircom from Valparaiso and 28-year-old Ashlee S. Perrin from Skokie, Illinois.
Vanblaircom had suffered an upper body injury and was immediately transported to Northwest Health Porter Regional Campus for medical treatment. Tragically, several hours later, Vanblaircom succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) was called in to assist with the investigation. Toxicology tests are currently pending, and the FACT team will continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
