“33-year-old Man Arrested for 2020 Slaying of Girlfriend”

A 33-year-old man who has been held in the Hood County jail since December on unrelated charges has been identified as a suspect in the 2020 slaying of his 31-year-old girlfriend. Richard Anthony Metten was arrested on December 30 for a bond violation in an aggravated robbery case. Now, he faces a murder charge in the fatal shooting of Andrea Stinson.

Stinson was found fatally shot on November 15, 2020, in a shed next to the house she shared with Metten in Granbury, Texas. She was supposed to pick up her three young children that afternoon but failed to show up. Authorities have not disclosed how they identified Metten as a suspect in the slaying, but they did note that he was cooperating with law enforcement.

Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds praised the investigators’ tireless efforts to bring a successful resolution to the case.
