A tragic accident occurred on Waiyaki Way at Eka Tano area in Kiambu County, Kenya, resulting in two deaths and multiple injuries. The accident involved a saloon car and a trailer from Nakuru on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway. The saloon car was turning onto the main highway when it was hit by the trailer, leading to a pile-up of 20 vehicles.
According to the Kikuyu Sub County Police Commander (SCPC), Ronald Kirui, a total of 52 road users sustained injuries in the accident. Among the injured were 31 students from Twee Light Secondary School in Kayole who were returning from a field trip in Naivasha. The injured individuals were taken to hospitals in Kikuyu and Nairobi for treatment.

Reverend Moses Kirimi of PCEA Thamanda church and his wife were identified as the casualties in the accident. Four other individuals were admitted in critical condition, while the rest received treatment at various hospitals in the area.
The police have launched an investigation into the accident, and if the drivers are found to be negligent, they will be held accountable. The SCPC highlighted the issue of driver discipline and emphasized the need for severe action against those responsible for causing the accident.
