On Saturday, a fatal collision between two containers on Ghodbunder Road in Thane claimed the life of a 40-year-old driver. The incident occurred at around 2:15 am at Patlipada, causing a disruption in traffic flow. The driver was identified as Majjid Khan.
According to Yasin Tadvi, the Regional Disaster Management Cell chief, the collision involved a container carrying 10 tonnes of clothes from Rajasthan to Nhava Sheva and another container transporting 18 tonnes of solar panels from Gujarat to Nhava Sheva. The driver of the Rajasthan container, Khan, was unfortunately killed in the accident.

Emergency responders had to extract Khan’s body from the mangled remains of the driver’s cabin. His body was then sent for post-mortem examination at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa. The collision caused a two-hour delay in the busy highway’s traffic, as reported by Tadvi.
