“Hit-and-run crash leaves two seriously injured on London Road; Modesto Ramos-Lopez arrested”

Lane County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left two people seriously injured in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening on London Road. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office located a 2009 Honda Civic believed to be involved in the crash and arrested the driver, Modesto Ramos-Lopez, 24. Ramos-Lopez has been charged with second-degree assault, hit and run, reckless driving, and fourth-degree assault.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the crash involved a motorcycle and a car. After the collision, the car fled the scene and headed southbound. The motorcycle operator was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, while the motorcycle’s passenger was also transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Ramos-Lopez is currently in custody at the Lane County Jail as of July 14, according to jail records. The investigation into the hit-and-run crash is ongoing.
