A Las Vegas man has been rebooked on a third murder charge that occurred within a 24-hour period in January. Jesus Gonzalez, 42, was previously arrested for two murders and is now facing a third charge. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified Gonzalez as a suspect in a homicide that took place on January 9, 2023.

The incident was discovered when the Las Vegas Fire Department responded to a fire in the 3800 block of East Charleston Boulevard. Inside the burning apartment, they found a woman with stab wounds who was pronounced dead at the scene. This sparked an investigation by the LVMPD homicide unit.

The day before, on January 8, police responded to reports of an unresponsive woman with a gunshot wound in another residence. She was also pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives identified Gonzalez as the suspect in both cases and he was apprehended in California on January 13. He was then extradited to Clark County, Nevada.

In addition to these two murders, Gonzalez is now being charged with open murder with a deadly weapon in a third case. On January 9, police responded to a shooting on Franklin Avenue where they found a man with gunshot wounds who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigations into all three murders are ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward. They can contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Section or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.

These tragic events highlight the importance of swift and thorough investigations to bring justice to the families of the victims. The Las Vegas community is counting on law enforcement to continue their efforts in solving these crimes and ensuring the safety of its residents..
