In a shocking incident, two people, including a woman, were allegedly shot dead within the premises of a local court in Lahore, Pakistan. The victims, identified as Sughra Bibi and Muhammad Amin, were present at the court for a case hearing when they were attacked by armed assailants. The motive behind the killing is yet to be determined.

The Punjab Police released a statement saying that the alleged perpetrators surrendered themselves to law enforcement after the crime and the weapons used in the act were recovered. The arrested culprits have been transferred to the SP City Office for further interrogation. The police are currently questioning them to determine if there are any possible connections or accomplices involved in the incident.

Unfortunately, this is not the first instance of violence within a court premises in Pakistan. Earlier this year, a senior lawyer was shot dead at the Peshawar High Court bar room, and another incident occurred at the gates of the Karachi City Court where a girl was fatally shot by her father for marrying of her own free will.

The Punjab Inspector General of Police, Dr Usman Anwar, has directed the police force to apprehend the culprits without delay. He emphasized the utilization of all available resources to catch the attackers and determine the motive behind the killing.

Such incidents highlight the need for improved security measures within court premises to ensure the safety of those seeking justice. It is essential for the authorities to thoroughly investigate these cases and bring the perpetrators to justice. The court should be a place where people feel safe and have faith in the legal system..
