The recently released bodycam footage from police in Oklahoma has captured the final gunshot that occurred during a suspected murder-suicide at the home of NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson’s in-laws. The incident took place on June 26, when law enforcement received a 911 call about a disturbance and someone with a gun at the residence of Jack Janway, 69, and his wife Terry Janway, 68. Tragically, the couple was found dead inside their Muskogee home, along with their 11-year-old grandson.

The bodycam footage recorded the moment when officers responded to the scene. As they worked to secure the perimeter, one officer described a victim seen covered with a blanket. The police approached the front door and announced their presence before opening it. Seconds later, a gunshot can be heard.

Further information provided by the Muskogee Police Department revealed that Jack Janway’s body was found near the front door, while Terry Janway was located on a couch next to a handgun. The final victim was found in a bedroom. Police initially investigated the incident as a possible murder-suicide, with Terry Janway being considered as a potential suspect.

Neither Jimmie Johnson nor his wife have publicly commented on the tragic shooting. However, Legacy Motor Club, Johnson’s racing team, issued a statement confirming the withdrawal of Johnson’s No. 84 Carvana Chevrolet from NASCAR’s Cup Series event in Chicago. The racing team also emphasized that the Johnson family has requested privacy during this difficult time.

The release of the bodycam footage provides a glimpse into the tragic events that unfolded on that fateful day. The investigation into the murder-suicide continues as authorities work to piece together the details surrounding this devastating incident..
