The community of Madera County, California, gathered on Tuesday evening to mourn the loss of 20-year-old Emmilianne Audler, who tragically lost her life in a car accident. Emi, as she was affectionately known, was killed at the intersection of Ellis and Fairview Streets, just one day before the vigil.

Emi’s sister, Julianne, spoke about her sister’s excitement to attend an upcoming Taylor Swift concert. Sadly, Emi’s dreams were cut short, and she would never get the chance to experience that joy.

The accident occurred as Emi was on her way to work at Starbucks in Madera. The driver responsible for the collision, 38-year-old Michael James Messer, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was not wearing his seatbelt. Messer, who has a history of DUI offenses and a suspended license, was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Emi’s family and friends are struggling to come to terms with her untimely death. They organized the vigil to provide an opportunity for those unable to attend the funeral to remember Emi and honor her life.

In an effort to alleviate some of the financial burden, Emi’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses. The community is encouraged to support the family during this difficult time by donating to the fund.

Emi’s tragic story serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of reckless and impaired driving. It is a call to action for stricter enforcement of laws and a reminder for everyone to prioritize road safety.

As the community mourns the loss of a vibrant and promising young individual, they also come together to support one another and remember the life that was lost too soon..
