“Six Killed in Murrieta Plane Crash, Victims’ Identities Not Yet Released”

On Saturday, a business jet crashed in the Southern California city of Murrieta, resulting in the tragic deaths of all six individuals on board. This incident occurred just four days after another small plane crash in the same area, where the pilot was killed and three children were injured.

The Cessna jet involved in the Saturday crash was attempting a second landing at Murrieta’s French Valley Airport when it went down around 4:15 a.m. The National Weather Service had reported low visibility conditions with low clouds in the area. The visibility was measured at 3/4 mile, which was considered very low for aviation purposes. Just 20 minutes later, the visibility reduced further to 1/2 mile.

The airport in Murrieta is located at a high elevation, and clouds from the coast often reduce visibility in the area. It is unclear whether the pilots were aware of the deteriorating weather conditions.

First responders arrived at the scene to find the aircraft fully engulfed in flames in a field. All six occupants of the plane were pronounced dead. The victims have not been identified yet.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the incident. The NTSB will request radar data, weather information, maintenance records, and the pilot’s medical records as part of their investigation.
