Three people, including a young Boy Scout, have died in separate incidents in New Hampshire waters on Friday. The tragic events occurred in Gilmanton, Manchester, and Madison, prompting responses from Marine Patrol, state police, and nine other agencies.
The first incident took place around 2:15 p.m. on Manning Lake in Gilmanton, where a young boy was injured in a boating accident. Sadly, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. He was part of a group of campers visiting New Hampshire for a week-long Boy Scout camp.

Meanwhile, while responding to the boating accident, Marine Patrol received another call about a body found on the Piscataquog River in Manchester. The body was identified as Shawn Barton, a 40-year-old man with an unknown address. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of Barton’s death.
Later in the evening, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a possible drowning was reported on Middle Pea Porridge Pond in Madison. Amy Posocco, a 41-year-old woman from Beverly, Massachusetts, had been swimming with her family when she failed to return to shore. After an immediate search, her body was located with the assistance of a dive team. The investigation into her death is ongoing, but authorities believe it was accidental.
The New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol expressed condolences to the families of the victims and thanked all the agencies involved in the response to the incidents.
