On July 4th, a tragic two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 63 and Church Road near Greenwood, NE. Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with several other emergency response teams, rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the incident.

According to witnesses, a red Honda Accord sedan driven by Hugo BUENDIA-VALVERDE failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a red Ford F250 traveling south on Highway 63. The impact of the collision caused several passengers to be ejected from the vehicles.

Tragically, three passengers from the Honda, including BUENDIA-VALVERDE, were pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, Isaac VALVERDE-ARROYO, was initially found with a faint pulse but unfortunately passed away before being transported. The driver of the Ford F250, Justin WIEDERIN, was found to have a blood alcohol content of .000, indicating that he was not under the influence of alcohol.
